In my last post I talked about the importance of having an online presence for your massage business.  Yes, massage businesses do need some form of online presence in order for customers to find them.

An online presence or website is the way to obtain new clients nowadays, it is no longer the yellow pages.  Google is the new yellow pages and you need to be online for potential clients to find you.

However the internet can do a lot more than simply acting as the modern day version of the yellow pages.

By having a website and using key strategies you can harness the power of the internet to facilitate growth for your massage business to succeed.

There are a number of different strategies you can try, depending on your massage business, your skills and your business direction.

One particular strategy for massage therapists is the use of the internet as a distribution platform for content within their massage business.

What is content?

Content is information in various forms such as books, cds, dvds, ebooks, seminars and courses.

Massage therapists can think about content in two different streams.  Content produced by others and content produced by themselves.

As a massage therapist you have a wide array of clients that come to you.  Often you find that in addition to being a massage therapist you play a role as educator.

You may need to educate your clients in ways of healthier eating, healthier lifestyle, emotional development, communication development and all the various aspects of healing.

In massage therapy sessions, you have the limitations of time.  Here you may want to suggest reference material for your clients to refer to, to help them on their journey.

Having the possibility to provide this reference material is providing a higher level of service to your clients as you are giving them the chance to learn more in order to help them change their life if they so choose.

It can also work as a side stream revenue earner for your massage business.

In future posts we will talk about the differences in providing your own content and others content to help cultivate success in your massage business.
